School Visits

The National Board of Examiners in Optometry engages in various sessions with faculty and administrators from schools and colleges of optometry, including:

  • Virtual and in-person item writing workshops
  • Informational sessions on the exam development and scoring process
  • On-site tours of the National Center of Clinical Testing in Optometry

Important Message

NBEO is aware that some candidates have been informed by their state boards that score access is unavailable. Since March 2026, NBEO has provided all state boards with the ability to register for and access the new State Board Portal, along with multiple communications, onboarding instructions, and training resources. If your state board indicates they do not have access, we encourage them to contact NBEO directly for assistance so we can support completion of their portal setup.
